Get to Know Baja California, Mexico

Baja California is located on the Pacific coast and borders the US State of California. It is comprised of 5 cities, Tijuana, Mexicali, Ensenada, Tecate, and Rosarito. The capital is Mexicali and the largest city is Tijuana, located across the border from San Diego and just over an hour from Los Angeles.

The State of Baja California is one of Mexico's most important industrial center. It's aerospace industry is the largest because of its strategic location on the US/California border. Other important sector are medical supplies (largest clusted in North America), electronics (Samsung), automotive (Toyota), Information Technology, and agriculture (largest wine producing region of Mexico).

The State is part of of is called the Aerospace Mega Region, one of the world’s most important high tech center. The Aerospace Mega Region offers world-class human capital, as well as a variety of academic and applied research centers of great national and international prestige. With a total population of more than 6.5 million people, the region has the biggest concentration of population along the Mexico-United States border. It is tightly integrated into the Southern California Mega Region which extends North to include Los Angeles, Orange, County, San Bernardino, and Riverside and the Pacific Aerospace Corridor that extends all the way to Seatle.
